Around 9 months ago, I was introduced to a personal development speaker named Jim Rohn. I’ve mentioned him before in some of my videos and emails, but if you haven’t heard of him, I would definitely recommend looking up his books/speeches (after you finish reading this email, of course).
Anyway, Jim was diligent about encouraging people to be very mindful of what information you allow into your mind. He saidyour mind was a mental factory, and whatever ingredients you put into your mind, then that’s what would emanate and become the fabric of your life.
In other words, garbage in, garbage out. Or as the bible says: “As you think, so you becomeā.
That’s exactly how I felt about how I was spending my time last year, as I was way too attached to checking the drumbeat of negative news and keeping up with everything on social media. I have since ended that terrible habit and am much happier and productive as a result. If you’ve been feeling worn down by your news/social media consumption, I’d encourage you to join me.
Now here’s the rub: If you spend a lot of time on those sites and give up most/all of it, you’ll have lots of newfound free time! So what are you going to replace it with?
Well, good news for you, I’ve recently created a new podcast called Retirement Clarity Radio.
The goal of the podcast is to help get you on the path to having a comfortable retirement, with all the money you need, without having to sacrifice your current lifestyle.
Each week we’ll introduce a new episode that is to the point and filled with useful information to help you have your best retirement possible. Right now, the show will feature around 4 episodes on one topic, and then we’ll move on to our next topic.
I am working on distributing it to all podcast platforms, but it’s currently available on Apple Podcast, Spotify, and online at RetirementClarityRadio.com
So if you’re looking to change things up in the new year, give it a listen. And if there’s anything you want me to discuss on the podcast, just hit reply and let me know.
All the best,
Scott “No TV News For Me” Newhouse
